I also enjoy S&A work. It's just hard enough but not overtaxing, and has measurable benefit over time. I start my preseason training with large doses of it. There's not a lot of TSS/CTL with it so you're not going to impress the BF cognoscenti with time and numbers. It's foundational work that builds the base. I have also used it successfully to raise my FTP 50w for peaking, alternating S&A with intensity and rest.
