Yes, I would ask for written confirmation from Cannondale that your frame is perfectly sound and not settle for anything less. They have no more proof of its condition than they could get from your picture. I wonder how eager they would be to give you a written statement like that.
Personally, I think that they are trying to get rid of you with minimal effort
