IIRC the Pursuit was a lowerend model (is it blue with yellow graphics or something?) so any collector value is mimimal so if you want to ride it just check the offerings at your local shop. Oh and if you do manage to find that perfect condition wheel down in Miami or San Diego you may not want to pay shipping. $30-35+/-
Thanks BianchiGirll - and 10-4 on your "the year after it was made.." comment. True I suspect.
I think you're also right about my only hope too, but 'round here would be a sensible place to look for an identical Pursuit, no?
Also, you DO recall correctly about the low-endness of the Raleigh Pursuit, but not the blue/yellow part; I've seen the blue ones yes, but mine and others I've spied in old posts on BF wear a pretty blatant shade of RED with gold headtube with the Raleigh bird lol.
I'm nursing no illusions about collectible "value"; there's a personal/sentimental aspect to its history though, (which story is for a future Happy Hour toast at the Off Topic Tavern) but that's where the "value" is for softhearted ol' me.
I'm still holding out naively optimistic hope for a few more days, that someone steps up and admits to having one kicking around taking up garage space. Some Suntour Geek has long ago appropriated the drivetrain parts off of his/her old Pursuit for use on other projects, and will love to give their dumb old Raleigh wheels a new lease on life!
Maybe I WILL check LBS options, in the "Nuthin' Fancy" aisle, and change my web search to one for DECALS lol.
cheers,
Tatt
