I rode my '76 Mk IV last weekend on L'Ombra NJ which was a great mix of country roads, village streets, main highways and single lanes with no paint on em. Even a fair amount of packed sand tracks thru the Pine Barrens - complete with obstacle courses of puddles and potholes (craters). The Pro handled it all and was exceptionally comfortable, quiet, smooth, athletic. It even track stands at traffic lights well.

Since we rode all those packed sand lanes, yesterday I removed the chain and washed it then went over the bike with a "fine tooth comb" to remove the sand. During those micro inspections I still marvel at what a nice frame the DL-180 is and, though I'm told the quality varied a bit at Worksop, what a well done job my frame is. As they may have said at Worksop, this bike is well sorted. I'm sure you'll love yours.

BTW: I've often been tempted to paint a bike satin black, just a touch of sheen but not gloss. With the great chrome socks that could be quite nice. Keep us posted.
