New chain + old cassette often = skipping. Sounds like you need new cassette.

Does it need to be swapped out?
And the chain does have a power link feature, I'll check for a stiff link.
Could I have be experiencing these problems b/c of chain length? Also, it seems to rub agains the front derailleur now when on the smallest or largest front cassette (27 spd). Didn't seem to do that before, would a different brand chain cause that? (The old chain was a Shimano and the drivetrain is Shimano.)
