And unless you make eye contact with the driver, don't assume that they see you. They're looking for other cars, and, maybe, pedestrians. Bicycles are low on their list of what they are looking for.
I was standing right next to him after he pulled up behind me, he'd have to have been literally blind to not see me. Also, I was wearing a primarily orange jersey.
