Not to excuse bad drivers of any vehicle, but I'm inclined to give truckers more slack than most people. No industrialized nation can function without heavy trucks carrying things around; it really is that simple.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing some of my tax dollars go into a separate highway system exclusively for trucks -- it would benefit them (if it was done properly) and all the smaller road-users alike.
