I'm not impressed by your advanced case of Internet Engineer Syndrome, but you know what? Forget it.

Edit: Okay, look. I think this has become much more contentious than the actual scale of our disagreement, which is small. ALL I am saying is, is the fewer spacers, the better. That's what almost ANY expert mechanic, fitter or designer will tell you. That's not just my opinion. That's the consensus. If you need more spacers and the fork is rated for it, fine. You do you. My only bone of contention is that you say not to worry about the head tube height when picking a frame. Because fewer spacers is actually better (again, this is the consensus of experts with more knowledge than either of us), I don't think a frame should be chosen regardless of the HT height. That's it. The Surly Cross-Check, for example, simply does not fit most people because the head tube is ridiculously short. And I don't think someone should disregard that just because they can put a huge spacer stack on top. I'm happy to leave it at that.
