I don't know of any pumps that fit in a jersey pocket that only takes 30 pumps to fill a tire. Most are more like 100-200 pumps, and quite a few can't even reach 100psi. That means closer to 5 mins, compared to 10 seconds for CO2. Neither option is going to help you in a no stop ride, but on a group ride that does stop, the extra 3-5 mins saved is a courtesy to the group as a whole. Assuming an average of 10 riders, that is 30-50 mins saved collectively for ~$1. That is a pretty good cost/benefit ratio IMO.
