The new chain is smooth as silk except that the 19T cog skips on hills. All other cogs work fine.

A new cassette is around $77. Is there any remedy to avoid having to replace the entire cassette? For now, I'm compensating by finding a different gear.

Thanks!
I went through something similar a few years ago, cassette wasn't new but not old either. The cog I ride most often was temperamental, I decided to give it 100 miles to see if the chain and cog could make friendly. They did, I'm sure I was stretching the chain to match the cog... Likely not the 'best' solutions, but saved me the cost a new cassette. Made a note to myself to replaced cassette with the chain when that chain was at the end of life.
