i've cleaned up as much as i can, took me about 4 hours to really get the chain reasonably gunk free with toothbrush and degreaser. anyway, cleaned up cassette/chain last night as well as i could (don't have the chain break/freewheel removal tool or would have just soaked it in diesel), used some car wax on the frame and it's looking pretty awesome! will have to take some 'after' pics of it later to put up.

any ideas on any future modifications/improvements to keep in mind? i'm guessing at some point try replace the derailleur back to dura-ace when/if can get one at a really good price but still happy with the 105 for now. also not too happy with the left shifter but it works.

no display of what gear it's in like my mountain bike, i find myself looking down a bit which is probably dangerous is this normal on road bikes? i'm sure i'll get used to it anyway.

below's the specs i've been provided from previous owner, though my first road bike so can't really tell what condition it's all in. all i can say is it feels so nice to ride very stable at high speeds (well, for me high speed is 50-60kph at the moment) and climbs so effortlessly. also feels very light but then again, my reference point is my mountain bike. don't have a scale for this, caad cult members how heavy do you reckon this would be?

been two months now with this bike, have done 700km (~450miles) in it now, slowly increasing milage by the week as i get slowly fitter! totally loving it.. heres some pics with blue bartape (i know, a fashion crime haha). got some white bartape to try out after this too once this is worn out. since i got the bike, i have taken most of it apart and put it through a full cleanup, relubed and put it all back together. given the frame a good wax too. fitted on it a speed /cadence sensor and cyclo 505 gps computer and ready to go for some adventuring!

loaded up with everything on pics except for drink bottle, bike weights in at 8.8kg (19.4lbs). any recommendations on making it lighter? guessing hweels be a good place to start? or maybe not bother for now since i'm such a beginner it wont really make much difference dropping a kilo or so.
