Ive got Zipp 404's and i use the Zipp valve extenders. I start off with a 60mm valve and the extenders basically double it. There are a few lengths it seems, these ones came with the purchase of my wheels so I don't know off hand how long the actual extenders are. Really well made and they seem to be working just fine!

You have to remove the valve from the stem and then screw in the extenders, then rescrew in the valve to the extender. Easy peasey

Does the extender screw onto the tube's valve all the way to the base, in which case the length of the extender becomes the final length of the tube's valve?
OR
Does the extender screw onto the tube's valve only partway, in which case the final length of the tube's valve will be the length of the extender plus ????
ALSO
I have seen some extenders advertised as "variable length"--how does this work?
ALSO
Are some extenders better than others? Any to avoid?

Thank you.
