Having no hands on experience with the 405 I can't comment directly. I do think the user interface is sufficiently different between the 405 and 610 that I wouldn't let experience with the 405 color one's expectation of the 610.

The big caveat I'll add is that a 1" round screen is kind of small to be looking at while riding. Factor that in too.
