Ah, the good ol' days of toe clips.
The pre-stop flick of the strap.
The trademark metalic scrape of the first few pedal strokes.
The standard flick of the toe to orient the pedal for entry.
The familiar pinch of the leather strap.
The left and pull to separate your cleat from the pedal.
The inevitable pulled foot a la David Grylls. (Team pursuit in L.A. 1984)
It's been years.
And I don't really miss any of it.
