Iz there any riders out there that get JUST the gear they need and NEVER obsess about it,
Iz there any riders out there who don't need the latest and greatest toyz,
Iz there any riders out there who ride the bike for a whole ride, a long ride and don't constantly second guess their current equipment choices?? "
Or am I the only one who just preps my equipment prior to a ride, grabs my gear and goes at it without thinking "I need more/better stuff" ???
I think I'm sort of in that category.
I have two helmets, one used to be my only helmet before I decided I needed a road helmet with better ventilation, the other is my mtn bike helmet now.
I have one pair of Nashbar road shoes to go with my Shimano SPD-SL pedals, and I'm riding sneakers with my rat trap half toe clipped mtn bike pedals.
I'd like to get a new road bike, if for no other reason than I've had my current road bike for 31 yrs. I did a mtn bike up grade last year from a rigid frame to a hardtail, and I crash exponentially less now, so it was a good buy.
As far as obsessing about gear when I ride, not so much unless my gloves or bar tape are dirty and worn out or my clothes are uncomfortable, then I think about gloves, new tape or a new jersey/shorts.
Mostly I just go ride.
