Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Jim,

Extending you every possible courtesy, I gather that you're either a non-cyclist, or casual cyclist who was hit by a bike while walking on the sidewalk. I sympathize with you, and hope you weren't hurt badly. But do you really expect to achieve anything by coming onto a bicycle froum and berating cyclist as a class.

Many years ago I crashed because a pedestrian ran out from between parked cars right in front of me. I wasn't injured seriously, but did leave plenty of my skin on the pavement. (the pedestrian was uninjured because I crashed avoiding him an only brushed him lightly).

Crap happens, some people are inconsiderate asshats, others make errors in judgement, but talking about people as a class serves no purpose at all and doesn't lead to solutions. Ranting and raving about relatively rare issues that are the result of individual poor judgement (or worse) is how we sacrifice all our freedoms one step at a time.
