This makes it kind of the Thurs night world championships - with insurance. As a few of us have spent time in the hospital from those - might be a good deal. Locally we have the Tue/Thurs races at the Great Park (Irvine, CA) and Eldorado Park (Long Beach) and a bunch of guys do those and never race on the weekends. "Eldo" has been around since the 80s. Coach say the mid-week group rides are too fast for serious weekend racers.
Do you mean GP and Eldo are faster or just the local group rides? I find our Tue / Thurs rides are faster than USAC races, but I'm just a 4. I would much rather race officially if we could. GP and ElDo are about a 2 hour drive for me, and I do hope to make it out to some this summer. Because the commute and race are a 6 hour commitment, during the work week its not something I'm willing to do unless I can win it.
