Based on pictures of the Escape 3, looks as if your primary option is a new stem, either adjustable or fixed with an angle that is more upright. Or, a longer stem of the same angle (rise) would raise the bars a bit, but at the expense of moving the bars farther away from you. The two dimensions of stems are rise (angle) and extension (length).

If you have a friendly local bike shop, might be worth stopping by there. Or, lots of stems available online. For example: Bikeman: 25.4 Threadless
