I'd also be interested in seeing your housing. I've seen housings made from PVC piping, and arcrylic boxes. Years back, I was on track to make my own, using a MR11 halogen. For the housing, I was planning to use a copper tubing reducer to house the bulb - it reduces from 2-1/2" to 1" (or something like that - the diameter was slightly bigger than the diameter of the lamp. It looked cool, but was relatively heavy. Regardless, to say, that project (like many others with me) died in its infancy.

I ended up buying a set of lights.

Regardless of homebrew or commercial lights, night riding is FUN - as I say, old trails become new.
