Any frame saver can be removed with a gentle solvent like paint thinner. Stuff paper towels into the bottom of the seat tube, chain stays, and down tube at the BB. If the frame saver gets into the BB dampen a rag with paint thinner and wipe the threads. An old tooth brush is also helpful. Apply a light coat of grease to the area cleaned. I actually use my shotgun cleaning kit to clean the frame saver from the top end of the seat tube. I then use it again to apply a liberal coating of grease to the inside of the seat tube.
