I saw that video before buying my fancy-pants expensive bike; and I had come to the same conclusions as the guiy in the vid.

I acknowledge that a light bike means little to a recreational rider such as myself....but it's nice having a cool bike!

As far as my rides? I had just as great rides 25 years ago on a BSO I resurrected from the garbage; but now, I can also enjoy the niceties of a well-crafted bike. Why I chose to get a fancy bike, when I don't indulge in extravagances in other areas of my life? I don't know. Maybe because riding is my only real hobby that I spend any money on, and I spend a lot of time on my bike?

Or maybe it's because a bike is like a tool; and I do knowe the value of buying good-quality tools!
