totally agree, mparker.
I don't restore bikes for a living. In "real life" I run a bike share program of 250 bicycles (soon to be 400).
The Copenhagenize blog put out a graph that perfectly sums up public bike share and, to some degree, this entire conversation. Relax guys. It's just people riding bikes.
