I actually used a DT Swiss R1900 w/ cartridge bearings. Most lower end wheels I've seen (and vintage) have threaded axles. Of course you could come up with some kind of homemade tool at Lowes as well.
Yeah, I just checked and my American Classics and Bike Hub Store hubs aren't theeaded. Luckily I have a trainer wheel built on a Tiagra hub. So I'm good to go. Thanks for the tip.
