That doesn't look good. I'd tap it with a nickel around the area, if it gives a dull thud, compared to the undamaged area that's a bad sign. Also take a small pin, and gently press in the area that appears to be a hole, and see if it actually is.
As said above, it's likely damage from the chain, and also likely not to fail imminently, but worth having someone look at it, and keep an eye on it.
You could also send the photos to Calfee design, who do CF repairs.
