Dogs are running machines, and if your dog will reliably walk at heel it will equally well run at heel behind/alongside a bicycle. Here's mine on a 20 mile run through the city....



One thing that WILL do them in quick however is overheating, while running or while riding.

Also, either way your dog will drink close to the amount of water you will, maybe more if its running.
