Number one reason would be the saddle contact point. So I'm fairly certain he missed his goal. I'm also sure he feels better having tried than sitting on the porch listening to all of us tell him not to. The only disadvantage of failure is if the bite you take is enormous, you're totally dispirited and never return for another bite.
