Bikes: 89 Schwinn 754, 90 Trek 1100, 93 Trek 2300, 94 Trek 1400 (under construction), 94 Trek 930, 97 Trek 1400

Both bikes are definitely overpriced for the SoCal Market. On CraigsList are getting to be over 500 new or renewed Listings everyday in each of the LA, Orange, IE, and SD Editions. That's a whole lotta bikes for sale in a few major markets within an hour or two drive of Downtown LA. The Flipers are asking premium money for their bikes, but they aren't selling with so many private party bikes also available and selling for lower prices. Competition for Buyers are fierce in this market.

You are taking about bikes that are ten years or close to ten years old. 50%-70% of MSRP is an unrealistic asking price in a market that puts a premium on the next thing or new things. Figure a minimum of 30% Off on a two year old bike and another 10% Off per year until a major brand bike is down to between $300-$400, and the value of the components is more than the whole bike would sell for. On the other hand, no-name bikes, or once famous brand names that are slapped on Asian made bikes are only worth $50-$100 by the time they are ten years old.
