Nah, most of you could do it, too. You had a life that year and I had a goal. Ride one or two centuries every weekend, all year, and almost every day of vacations. They add up. After the year, you then resume normal life.
That's still pretty darn cool! You had to put in the effort, not a lot of people are willing to do that.
As for the OP I bet they found his body and dragged it across the finish line. Oh wait, that's running not cycling.
