I have lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Colorado but have never enjoyed riding as much as I have here in Tallahassee. Sure, it gets blazing hot in the summer, but it's a wet heat. Besides, it keeps out the riff-raff.

We don't have mountains, but we do have enough hills that, when our friends visit from Orlando, Tampa, or Miami, we can put a hurtin' on them. Of course, when we go to North Georgia feeling all smug about how well we are riding, we get our butts handed to us by them good ol' boys and girls from Atlanta.

The town is small enough that you never have to ride too far to get out of town and onto lightly traveled country roads. The folks in North Florida and South Georgia are remarkably polite drivers when you get outside the city.

Winters are mild with only a few frosty mornings each year so year round riding is comfortable. A lot of folks switch from road to off-road riding in the cooler months. Summer is not the best time to be in the woods in North Florida. Too many things that like to feed on the human hide, you understand.
