because this forum is stupid about stuff like this. there is no good reason for it, its just the typical american attitude as of late concerning anything that might even remotely make someone uncomfortable or be considered "politically incorrect".
it censors all kinds of unreasonable words. i have in teh past tried to talk about a grease ***. paint ***. hot glue ***. its ******** (word for being mentally handicapped that rhymes with "re-started" - another ridiculous censor).
Also, someone will probably be along shortly to reprimand us for talking about the censor....

Here's the official reason via a PM from a mod in the past regarding the censor for the three letter word for a firearm.
"The 3 letter word for firearm is censored due to the ultra diverse backgrounds of members here, which results in that word being touchy touchy as it usually sparks debates between proponents and opponents of that subject. Which just like politics, erupts into a big mess and hurt feelings between members."
Its ok to say "firearm" though. We don't want to hurt any feelings.
