When mud tires have cup shaped center blocks like these, the (larger) cup points back on the ground for better pushing. Think the opposite of aero profile. On front tires it's the reverse, the cup points forward so they bite when braking.

whoops edit: both tyres pictured is at the rear of the bike, the front of the bike is to the left
so thats how one rear tyre should look, and the other tyre should be turned around for the front, yeah?
