I think the East Tennessee, North Carolina, Virgina areas would be good. We lived there for about 6 years. Lots of great biking, both mountain and road. Mild winters, only a few weeks with any real snow on the ground. Generally a nice mild climate. Not extreme hot or cold, and the Smokies provide lots of opportunities for cooler riding.
I’d include North Georgia and Northeast Alabama… and the climate is a little warmer. The only drawback to North Georgia is that metro Atlanta is encroaching.
And to whomever believes that all Eastern cities are flat – Atlanta, D.C. – both very hilly cities.
