I replaced brake and shifter cables with teflon coated cables on my LWB Tour Easy, made a real difference.

It's like having freshly cleaned and lubed cables all the time, every ride except you never lube them at all.
I periodically remove and clean them, say every other year, but NO lube that attracts dirt.

2750mm was more than long enough... not expensive at all..

If your not riding teflon coated stainless cables your missing out
