welcome to the forum. lots of us got into cycling to help with weight loss and exercise...when I first started I could only do about 3-1/2 miles then take a break and do the same back home, so 7 miles total...now it takes me about 5 to 7 miles to get warmed up. Enjoy the ride and go as far as you are comfortable with, the mileage will increase with time as will the comfort level.
