How exciting! I've been very happy with my 8.6 and am pleased with my choice.
I got the regular Mirrcycle Mountain Mirror on advice of the LBS employee helping me; the bar ends are fully round so the Isozone specific version wasn't needed. Just pry the endcap off and install the mirror. If you have a set of
plastic automotive trim tools it helps catch the lip of the bar endcap. Also very handy to pull the plastic plugs out of the braze-ons when installing the rear rack struts.
On the DuotrapS/Trip300 combo I'm quite pleased. I like that it's integrated to the bike (if/when I buy a 2nd bike it'll get it's own s/c sensor) and can send data both to the Trip300 display and to my Fenix3 watch simultaneously. The DuoTrapS is fairly price competitive to the Garmin or Wahoo offerings, with the bonus of being screwed in and pretty unobtrusive. (not so good if you want to move s/c sensor between bikes, but I'd outfit each bike with its own so that's moot)
The Trip300 is basic but that's also part of its charm. It's essentially always on, waking up when you move the bike and will display speed and time of day. It's easy to reset the stats for a new ride (zeros distance and avg/max data) and it's easy to scroll through the different displays. It's nice for casual use; I'm not sure it'd be of much value to an in-training competitive cyclist. If I had plans to buy a Garmin Edge or mount my phone on the bars anytime soon I might not have spend the extra for the Trip300. Still, for an extra $40 as part of the combo package it's nice to have. When I bought mine, the combo package was on sale at $75 -- that made it an easy decision.
Best part was that my LBS installed it for me since I bought it with the bike.
