Not at all. I just have a BB30 bottom bracket, and it is completely enclosed. In order to run the wiring from the junction box, which on the NP fits nicely in the downtube, to both derailleurs and the battery, drilling would have been needed. Not happening! The Sparrow may very well be "open" front to back, as it has the English threaded bottom bracket (I assume) and that will work just fine.
