Hello Fellow Bikers!
I am not new to fixing up bikes and then selling them on Craigslist. I just remember alot of stuff from the old days and thanks to youtube, It's like learning all over again. I just recently found this Vintage 27" Bridgestone/Shimano 10 speed road bike which someone had tossed out. I decided to take it home and give it some TLC. First thing was the rear tire was off and both tubes were flat, the rear one I replaced and the front was just empty. The rear also had no bolts on it, so I have to go to the bike shop and buy a new tube and some bolts, also a wire for the Front deraileur, rear was ok, just needed some adjusting. I replaced the seat with another one from another bike I had found and sold on CL. Wow, ok, now the bikes brakes were a little loose and I adjusted those also, now the bike a almost ready for a test ride. Now I did notice that the inner rims need some taping and then I need to adjust the rear spokes because it wobbles abit. All in all, not a bad find, I've seen worse bikes sell for $150 on CL. But I think I will keep this one for awhile. Now, it has a lot of Shimano parts, both deraileur are Positron II Shimano, the brakes, part of the crank case, the hub rims are make by Schwinn and the handle bar by Sakae Custom Road Champion (SR). Here are a few pics of my latest project. I can't seem to find any info on this bike online, it does say "Star Shine" and there is also a serial number on the frame, tried to look that up but, no results. Hey, I almost forgot, my name is Frank, I live in Brooklyn, New York and I'm glad to be a member of this bike forum.
thanks you guys,
