An awful lot of AHSML stories start out with "I was doing something stupid, risky and/or completely avoidable" and end with "the helmet saved my life". Even lots of the example given in the last few days are in that basic format. Many helmeteers seem to be as oblivious to basic cycling safety as their patron saint Chris Bucherre.
