They just ride bikes over a prescribed course as quickly as they can without destroying their run. They don't train in any of the cycling disciplines, plus they ride those ridiculous tt bikes. I don't believe as a generalization that this is necessarily true. I also know several serious triathletes, my wife being one, who are very good bikers, and can handle varied riding conditions, including pacelines, with the best of them.
