I have a Domane P1 with RXL wheels & Sram Red 22.
The bike is awesome, I can't imagine that there is a bike out there that is more perfect for me than this one.
It is incredibly comfortable, even on long rides with lots of climbing (148 miles, 8000+ ft.).
It handling is great, and I love how it climbs.
I haven't ridden an Emonda, that model was not out when I ordered this bike (January 2013), but I doubt that the Emonda
would have suited me better than the Domane, since I don't race, and most of my rides are in the 40-60 mile range, and on New England roads.
If you get the 5.2, get RL or RXL wheels, they're much better than the Race model (which I bought as take-offs to use as winter back-ups).
FWIW, my bike weighs 14 lbs 15 oz with RXL cages & Look KeoMax2 pedals. Yours will likely weigh 16-1/2 to 17 lbs.
Test ride both under varying conditions, and go from there.
