Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

#1 on your buy list, before anything else, should be a spare inner tube the right size and the right valve type to fit your bike. That's even more important than the pump. Buy one even if you have zero mechanical ability and have no intention of ever fixing your own flats. Bicyclists tend to be friendly folks. If you have a flat tire, somebody will eventually come along who is willing to help but they won't be able to do much without the appropriate replacement resource. I've given away a few replacement tubes in my time but I've also had to leave several riders to push their bike down the Katy Trail only because neither of us had the right spare inner tube.
