Bikes: 1961 Ideor, 1966 Perfekt 3 Speed AB Hub, 1994 Bridgestone MB-6, 2006 Airnimal Joey, 2009 Thorn Sherpa, 2013 Thorn Nomad MkII, 2015 VO Pass Hunter, 2017 Lynskey Backroad, 2017 Raleigh Gran Prix, 1980s Bianchi Mixte on a trainer. Others are now gone.

I am not familiar with the Sequoia, but that Bottecchia looks like it has a Campy double crank with 135mm BCD. Do you want lower gears for Pacific Coast? There were a lot of hills last summer when I road Astoria to San Fransisco in the 8 percent range. Some of the alternate route hills in Oregon were 12 percent. Even if I was credit card touring instead of lugging a full camping gear load, I would have wanted a triple on the 12 percent hills. If my knees were 40 years younger, maybe I could use a double, but maybe that is why I now have bad knees.
