Yes, it is still new and at least around me, the stock is still slowly trickling in stores. I had to order mine online. But yes, the length is very short, so there's not much room to move around if you are one of those people who like to sit on the nose. It's meant to be mainly a single position saddle. I personally never move around and I think most people who like hammock/saddle shaped saddles like the Romin tend to not move outside of the back perch. For me the super short saddle is perfect since the nose no longer gets snagged on my shorts when transitioning back to the saddle from standing.
