You have to compare feature set to feature set. That's where the Edge 1000 comes in although the smartphone user has virtually the same feature set or better for a
45% or more discount under the cost of the 810 not to mention the 1000! So, I'd agree, the 810 and 1000 are both in jeopardy from smartphone based systems. There is no way this does not jeopardize Garmin's margins and cause them to have less dedication to this market over time. I say that as a fan of Garmin as a company too.
