I've been saying for the past 2 years "if I ever find a decent, non-knobby 27 x 1 3/8" tire, I'm buying it!"* I had a set of 30 year old Specialized tires on my Voyageur. The front sported a Specialized Touring tire at 1 1/4" and the rear was a Specialized Expedition tire at 1 3/8" That bike was like riding on a poofy cloud. Albeit, a poofy old cloud that I was thinking could pop at any given minute and have me walking home.

Well, someone pointed me to the Swift Tires on the Loose Screws site- Just got 'em and I'm going to go throw one on the back end of my 1985 Trek 620!

Wish me Luck!!!**

* OK, that's kind of paraphrasing it- but the sentiment was the same.

** who actually knows if a 1 3/8" tire will even fit between the chainstays on this bike... Right now- it's the only tourer that I have that isn't fendered.
