I have a Magna 7sp hybrid from Target that cost $100.00 in 2002, my recreational grocery grabber. Clip-op dual-side pedals with sandals, rear rack, basket in front, out the garage door it weights 40+lbs. Longest rides are 60 miles. Riding 40 miles with local club on A rides I set up aerobars since drafting is usually the norm.
Anybody mentioning negatives regarding hybrids, hasn't a clue.
