I generally suggest doing it this way.

For the frame I prefer to use a tape color that matches (as close as possible) the frame (for the side view at least) for a daytime "stealth effect.

I'm almost required to say that red reflective tape should still be used in the rear and it probably would be good to use a bit of white up front as well as some local authority types still insist on the white in front / red in back reflector rule. I don't sweat this too much as the black tape I'm switching to (after the blasted roof is done) reflects as white, however I intend to keep the red tape in back if only to keep the local constabulary happy.
Keep in mind that reflectors are NOT a substitute for lights and should never be solely relied upon.
