There's no fair way to answer that question, but some people might say Trek closely followed by Specialized, or the other way around. Personally, I think that Surly is a way better brand than both of those, and then there's probably people who think Surly sucks. But you might keep this in mind: no matter the bike, if it has multiple gears, it's usually speced with Shimano, SRAM, or Campagnolo, and those three companies do not play together.
