I have the 60 and the Serfas 80. I like them both, but for day time the 80 is more visible than the 60. I like the brightness of the 80 and the compactness of the 60. If you're looking for a night light I recommend two Sefas 60 vs one 80. But if you want a day rear light then go with the 80.
For day time, my take is that it's not really an attention grabber ("look at me"), like the DS 500 or Dionette 400 lights, but more of a "I'm here" kind of light. I had my wife hold the bike on the street during day time, while I walk behind it several hundred feet and I could see the light from 300' away. Most effective was the blinking in my opinion. I have notice a little more respect from considered and awoken drivers during the day time commutes. However, it doesn't command the same respond as during night. I use a dynamo rear with both the Serfas 60 and the 80 on different modes. I use both Serfas on the night mode (less power, more time running) and the respond I get from motor vehicles is very satisfying! Cars from way back, start changing lanes and don't get close like in day time.
I'm saving my money for a DS 500 rear light. I want the same respond from vehicles I get at night but during day time.
The reason I bought the 80 was because I loved the 60 and I thought it would be a better light, and it is. The 80 have dual lights vs one light on the 60. The bulbs look bigger then the 60. One thing I don't like is the weight of the 80 in combination with the provided mount. It gets knock around on rough roads and it change position on the thin tube of the rack. I have reduce the problem by using a strip of adhesive sand paper on the tubus rack where the light goes. However, I think a system like cateye, would be more secure. Also make sure the light clicks "on", on the strap mount. I had it come out during a ride, fortunately I was able to recover it in one piece.
Over all I'm satisfy with them and I think they are both good value for what they offer. I charge them every day for my commutes and that is a pain. I can't go more than two days (2:00hrs) with out the lights going out on the third day. So real life some day some night, I get about 2:30-2:45 hours of use, on both of them ( I use the Serfas 60 during day time also). My lights are always on, front and rear.
Next week I'll have some time and I'll do a video and post it here.
