No need to be afraid. Just come to terms with reality. Sucky people are like sucky weather. You don't have to like them, but they're part of the environment so you have to deal with them.

I've had garbage, drinks and an M-80 thrown at me but it's been a long time since anyone has done anything like that. I did not report any of the incidents -- truth be told, it didn't occur to me to do so. Even if it had, I probably wouldn't bother. It's not like this sort of thing would be a law enforcement priority.
